Scone Waffles with Chocolate Mint Gravy

Ingredients

  • Mason Dixie Chocolate Chip Scones
  • 1 C. granulated sugar
  • 3 T. cocoa powder
  • 2 T. flour
  • ⅛ tsp. salt
  • 1 ½ C. whole milk
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. mint extract
  • 2 T. salted butter, cold
  • Crushed peppermint candies

How to Bake

  • Thaw scones overnight
  • Place each thawed scone, one scone at a time, into a waffle maker and cook according to waffle maker instructions
  • While waffle cooks, combine sugar, cocoa powder, flour and salt in a saucepan and whisk
  • Add milk, vanilla and mint, whisk until smooth and place over medium heat
  • Stir constantly over heat until mixture becomes thick. Adjust heat so it doesn't boil
  • Once it's as thick as you like, remove from heat and stir in cold butter
  • Dip cooked scone waffles in warm chocolate gravy and cover with crushed peppermint candies
  • Enjoy!
