Ingredients
- Mason Dixie Chocolate Chip Scones
- 1 C. granulated sugar
- 3 T. cocoa powder
- 2 T. flour
- ⅛ tsp. salt
- 1 ½ C. whole milk
- ½ tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. mint extract
- 2 T. salted butter, cold
- Crushed peppermint candies
How to Bake
- Thaw scones overnight
- Place each thawed scone, one scone at a time, into a waffle maker and cook according to waffle maker instructions
- While waffle cooks, combine sugar, cocoa powder, flour and salt in a saucepan and whisk
- Add milk, vanilla and mint, whisk until smooth and place over medium heat
- Stir constantly over heat until mixture becomes thick. Adjust heat so it doesn't boil
- Once it's as thick as you like, remove from heat and stir in cold butter
- Dip cooked scone waffles in warm chocolate gravy and cover with crushed peppermint candies
- Enjoy!
